Scariolo: “We're getting more and more minutes of good basketball”
“We have a very positive reading of the match, although we still need to reach 40 minutes of consistency,” added the coach after the victory over Partizan.
Sergio Scariolo analysed Real Madrid’s victory over Partizan Belgrade on matchday four of the EuroLeague. The coach had this to say after the clash: “We have a very positive reading. We're getting more and more minutes of good basketball. Obviously, we still have a long way to go to reach 40 minutes of consistency.”
“We have enough experience among our core players to be able to keep a little bit more control when the opposition, who are very good, are going to come back into the game. We can do better. But we did a lot of good things at both ends of the court, probably more in the first half than in the second half, but beating Partizan is never easy.”
On Maledon
“He had to play 15 minutes and I don't know how much he has played. When he said we needed a bit more ball handling, it doesn't take a genius to know that. He's a very important piece for our team. In a EuroLeague-level defence it's good to have a playmaker and finisher like him. He still has some way to go, especially defensively, to find his best form, but naturally, he gives us an important hand at the point guard position.”
