Scariolo: "We want to bring all the energy and enthusiasm we can to Barça's court"
"Emotionally and historically, it's a game with a lot of interest and passion surrounding it," said the coach in the build-up to El Clásico (Friday, 8:30 pm CET).
Sergio Scariolo spoke ahead of Barça-Real Madrid on Euroleague matchday 9, which will be played at the Palau Blaugrana (Friday, 8:30 pm CET). The coach said: "It's one of those games you can't wait to play. They're all important and none of them are decisive in terms of the final standings, but emotionally and historically, it's a game with more interest in it and the surrounding passion. That's how we want to experience it, bringing all the energy and enthusiasm we can to Barça's court and playing our best game."
"We must be able to keep our cool and stay fully focused. Not overreacting to the twists and turns of the game, the refereeing, the mistakes or the successes. That's the first point of any competition plan to be a good sportsman: in high-stakes conditions, knowing how to keep your cool so you can make the best decisions on the pitch."
