Pedro Martínez: “This victory helps us grow as a team”
“We played with a good mentality and showed a lot of respect for the opponent from the very beginning,” added the coach.
Pedro Martínez analyzed Real Madrid's victory over Manresa in the third round of the league. The coach commented on the match held at the Movistar Arena: “We played a good game, with a strong mentality and a great deal of respect for the opponent from the very beginning. Even in the second half, when we already had a large lead, we played with good intensity and focus. I’m happy because some players who had been playing less also gained good feelings, which helps us grow as a team.”
“In such a long season, everyone will have their opportunity. I’m delighted. First, I’m happy for the players because when they’re not playing, in a very large squad, it’s very hard to maintain continuity, and I know it’s mentally tough for them, but they all have a great mentality.”
“It’s great that when they get minutes, they show their level and potential. And then, it also allows us to think that we can count on them more regularly. Therefore, I’m thrilled for them, first on a personal level and then on a professional level as well.”
Team-oriented play
“I think we have to get used to that, and we should appreciate it as something positive but also as something normal. Honestly, I believe the strength of this team will lie in the group, not in one or two players. We can see that either as a weakness or as a tremendous virtue. Personally, I think it’s much better.”
