Hezonja: “The next games are crucial to continue growing as a team”
“We’re a much better team now than when we faced them in the first half of the season,” said the Croatian ahead of the clash with Maccabi.
Real Madrid take on Maccabi Tel Aviv in EuroLeague Round 21. Mario Hezonja shared his thoughts ahead of the matchup at the Movistar Arena (Thursday, 8:45 pm CET): “We’re going into this game with high energy levels after that unexpected loss to them in the first half of the season. We played well against Asvel and we’re on the right track—improving our game and picking up wins we missed out on earlier in the campaign.”
“Maccabi at home, and then the next two games, are key for us to keep growing as a team and climbing the EuroLeague standings. We’re just two wins behind the leader, so every victory matters.”
What kind of game do you expect?
“I expect a tough, physical battle. They punished us on the boards last time and we made defensive mistakes. Now we’re a much better team. Maccabi is strong and physical side, so we need to focus on defense and controlling the rebounds.”
