Scariolo: "We want to win the game to keep climbing the table"
"It'll be tough, and we have to be ready," warned our coach in the buildup to the match against Asvel Villeurbanne (Tuesday, 8:00 pm CET).
Sergio Scariolo spoke ahead of Asvel Villeurbanne-Real Madrid in EuroLeague Round 20. The coach analyzed the game set to be played in Lyon this Tuesday (8:00 pm CET): “We’re starting out on the second half of the season. We’ve barely had time to breathe, but that’s the pace of the schedule. We have to approach this trip with full concentration and a desire to keep improving.”
“If we think about where we were in October compared to now, we can clearly see the progress we've made. We need to keep making positive steps, and we’d love to start, little by little, climbing up the table. We’re only two wins off first place, and we want to keep picking up wins to continue growing.”
On Asvel
“The opponent is in great form right now. They’ve won two games playing really well. They're a very athletic team that impose a high tempo and boast real strength in the paint. They have excellent ball-handlers like Watson and Heurtel. We have to be ready, well aware it will be a tough game and that nobody wins here easily.”
