Chus Mateo: "Our mentality needs to improve in terms of confidence and aggressiveness to be the Real Madrid we’ve always been"
"Unicaja are a good team, the current leaders of the Liga Endesa and it's always a tough game against them," said the coach before the clash (Sunday, 6.30 pm CET).
Chus Mateo spoke on Realmadrid TV ahead of the game between Real Madrid and Unicaja, which will be played tomorrow at the WiZink Center (Sunday, 6.30 pm CET). The coach had the following to say: “Unicaja are a good team, they are Super Cup champions and the current leaders of the Liga Endesa. It's always a tough game against them, they don't give you much leeway because they anticipate a lot and they're an aggressive team in terms of defence.”
A well-drilled team
“They know each other very well. They have got a lot of mechanisms in place as a team. They've been working with the same players and the same coach for a while now and it shows. They play with a lot of confidence."
Confidence
“We have to perform at a high level and I'm sure we're going to do it. We have to stick together, focus solely and exclusively on our opponents and what lies ahead of us, because there are plenty of good things to come. We're playing a bit below what I think we should be performing at and that's probably because our mentality needs to improve in terms of confidence and aggressiveness if we're going to be the Real Madrid we have always been.”
Support at the WiZink Center
“We need all the players and our people, who have to be at 100% tomorrow, as always. We'll do it together.”
