Chus Mateo: "The work isn't done yet"
"The play-off is going as we wanted it to, but we have to stay focused", added the coach ahead of the third game of the Endesa League final against UCAM Murcia (Wednesday, 8:30 pm CEST).
On the eve of their clash with UCAM Murcia in the third game of the Endesa League final at the Palacio Municipal de Deportes (Wednesday, 8:30 pm CEST), Chus Mateo shared his thoughts with the media. The coach said: "We did our job at home, with the support of our fans. We're very grateful for the atmosphere at the WiZink. It wasn't easy. They were two very tough games against a Murcia team that fights and is not easy to beat".
"The job isn't done yet. The play-offs are going the way we wanted, but we know how tough our opponents are and how difficult it will be to play on their home court. We need to be even more focused, if that's possible".
Difficulty
"We've managed to get through the games with some ease, but it hasn't been comfortable. It hasn't been easy, far from it. We're expecting them to spring a few surprises and hopefully, we'll be able to deal with them like we have so far".
On Rudy Fernández
"He was crucial yesterday. We were lucky that the game was going in the right direction and he was able to come off the pitch and get that well-deserved ovation. It was very emotional. He's a player who will go down in the history books. Those of us who are passionate about this club can't help but be moved by someone who fought for every ball. I'm very happy to have spent time with someone who is part of Real Madrid's history".
Ending the year with 3 trophies
"There is still a long way to go. We can't take anything for granted. We're 2-0 up, we're aware of that, but tomorrow will be a different story".
