Chus Mateo spoke to Realmadrid TV the day before Real Madrid host Surne Bilbao Basket (Sunday, 5 pm CET). The coach had this to say: “We continue to take steps forward. It's tough to juggle the two biggest competitions in basketball at the moment. We have to change our mindset during the week and it's not easy to maintain that competitive tension every day.”

“The boys deserve a lot of credit for what they've done this month. We can't think about stopping here, we have to keep going. It's a long season and there's a lot to do, but the important thing is that we're heading in the right direction.”

EuroLeague double-header
“We're going to try to recover properly. It's less than 48 hours to play again and there's a trip in between. We have to work hard to make the team perform as well as possible after the big effort we made yesterday against KK Crvena zvezda. It's about trying to optimise our efforts together, not individually, and being able to use all the resources in the squad.”

Surne Bilbao Basket
“They're also involved in an important European play-off. Whenever we play against them, they always make things very difficult for us. They beat us at home on matchday three and now we're going to try to make up for that. We want to give our best in front of our home fans.”

Unbeaten at the Movistar Arena
“I don't think about it too much, but it helps us to feel strong every Sunday we play in front of our fans. We've won 12 in succession in the ACB and that's impressive, even if it's not decisive at this point in the season.”
