Chus Mateo: “We want to cement our league position against Unicaja”
“Unicaja play extraordinary basketball and it's not easy to win on their home court,” said the madridista coach.
Chus Mateo spoke on Realmadrid TV ahead of the clash between Unicaja-Real Madrid, on matchday 25 of the Liga ACB. The madridista coach had the following to say: “It's a game against the second-placed team. Unicaja play extraordinary basketball and it's not easy to win on their home court. Their fans get really behind them and you can feel it when the pavilion is full. There are a lot of league games left but this is a game we'd like to play well in and win.”
“We're physically strong because we've been able to train. The players have different peaks of fitness. We're looking to play better day by day, but we're still going to have some ups and downs. The important thing was to get the win on one of the toughest courts in the EuroLeague against Virtus and to win a game that put us in the playoffs.”
Scene of Copa del Rey triumph
“Nobody can take the trophies away from us and we won the Copa (del Rey) at this venue. This is a great venue that evokes those memories for us. We have to focus on the league and We want to cement our league position.”
