Chus Mateo and Carlos Alocén discussed the Euroleague Round 34 match between Zalgiris and Real Madrid (Thursday, 7pm CEST). The coach said: "Our opponents are a team full of energy, especially at home. They're in form and have outstanding players like Evans. They won't be in the playoffs, but that shows just how competitive the Euroleague is. It's a testament to our hard work. Having 26 wins in this competition is a credit to us. Sergio Rodríguez, Rudy and Hugo González won't be travelling for this game".

"This is a magical setting. The Euroleague won last year remains in my memory. Kaunas is my favourite city since last year. We've done a good job this year and I'm sure we'll do a good job between now and the end of the season. All the objectives we have set ourselves are still in place. I think we're on a good footing, regardless of the last three games".

Immediate objectives
"We work every day. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. We're focusing on Zalgiris and then Joventut. We're thinking about doing well and maintaining competitive tension. We'll try to get more and more positive vibes ahead of what's to come".

Alocén: "Our main strength is playing the way we know how to play"
"It's important to keep winning and playing well. It'll be a tough game because there's always a great atmosphere there and it's their last home game in the Euroleague. If we do our things well we can get the win".

"Zalgiris is a team that is capable of doing different things in attack and defence. We have to concentrate on ourselves and implement what we train. We have to be alert to the tactical aspects our opponents have, but our main strength is playing the way we know how to play".
