Chus Mateo: "We want to deliver a good display against Tenerife"
"They're a tough team with expert players who know the League very well," highlighted the coach.
Chus Mateo spoke with Realmadrid TV on the eve of the matchday 24 League game that sees our team face Lenovo Tenerife at the WiZink Center (12:30 pm CET): “We've got a bit of cumulative strain and of course, after the run of these last few games we're a bit tired. That's to be expected over the course of the season, it's the way it goes. Now we have to recharge our batteries and set the team up to work hard, because now is the time. So we're eager to get to the game against Tenerife to put on a good display and look to recover from our recent home defeats. But it's all good, the spirit is good and morale is high."
“They're a team who know each other very well. They've got a series of well-worked mechanisms in offense and defense, honed over time with the same coach, pretty much the same squad and a very characteristic playing style. They're a tough team with expert players who know the League very well."
Key period
“Every game is important and when you win, it helps you to feel better. Thank God, we've been able to win the Copa del Rey and the Super Cup, we're sitting top of the League and the EuroLeague. We're enjoying what is an ideal scenario, despite going through a spell where we're a bit fatigued. But we're hungry to keep winning games and doing good things for the rest of the year, in order to overcome these home losses that have hurt a bit, but we know they're par for the course over a long Regular Season. I'm sure we'll be at our best when we need to be."
