Chus Mateo: “Hopefully we'll put in a good performance and get the win”

Chus Mateo and Deck discussed the EuroLeague round seven clash between Maccabi and Real Madrid (8:05pm CET). The coach analysed the game: "We have to move on quickly because the fixture list doesn't let you start thinking about the following game. We travel to Maccabi in Belgrade, with almost no time to rest, but that's the best thing that can happen to us, to play another game soon after against an opponent of the Israeli team's calibre".
"We know less about them than other teams because they're newcomers in the Euroleague, American players who have come to this competition for the first time. They're a bit of an unpredictable team when it comes to one-on-ones, with quality players, they're good on the offensive rebound, they run the court and they're talented".
Winning on the road
"The level in the Euroleague is very high and winning away from home gives you a boost of confidence. We're looking for that win away from home without becoming obsessed, we're calm and we're trying to do things well. We know how long the competition is and hopefully, we'll put in a good performance in this game to see if we're capable of winning".
Deck: "We'll try to correct our mistakes"
"We're focused on the Maccabi game. Hopefully, we'll play well, we'll be up to the task and we'll be able to get the win because it's important. They're a tough team. We will try to correct our mistakes and stay focused for 40 minutes in order to win the game".
