Chus Mateo: "It was important to win to feel good going into the playoffs"
“We went into the game with a very good attitude,” explained the coach after the victory against Casademot Zaragoza.
Chus Mateo analysed the Real Madrid away win against Casademont Zaragoza in the last game of the Regular Season. The coach said in the press room, “Although it wasn't a key game in terms of the standings, it was important for us to maintain and reinforce our mindset. We wanted to feel good going into the playoffs. We know how difficult they are and that it's going to be very tough (against Baskonia).”
"We approached the game with a very good attitude. We knew it could take more away from us than it could give us, but I think we've drawn a lot of positive conclusions in terms of sharing the ball. We did very well; we recovered the same number of balls that we lost. We made 23 assists and shot pretty well from outside, and I think we had a pretty good balance between defence and offence."
"We also distributed the minutes more or less as we wanted. I'm happy with the feeling we take away from the game. If we do things right and have the right mindset, we'll be ready to face whatever comes next."
