Chus Mateo: "We're struggling away from home"
"We could've done more in the first half and these are lessons we have to learn properly," added the coach Real Madrid.

Chus Mateo spoke in the press room and analysed the game between Surne Bilbao Basket and Real Madrid: “Our league is not easy on any court. In A Coruña we slipped up and they played better than us. We're struggling away from home. We also lost in Munich in the EuroLeague. We knew we were going to have to fight hard, dig deep and not waste a lot of energy. We could've done more in the first half and these are lessons that we have to learn properly.”
“We have to congratulate our opponents because they played well and managed to beat us in many areas of the game, especially in terms of energy in the first half. We conceded a lot in the first half and then we made a big effort to come back. But when you play on the edge these things can happen and the game went their way.”
Unity
“The team is trying to improve. We could've been a lot less complacent in defence in the first half. In the second half we had a better understanding of where we were going. We have to work hard, stay together and keep working. It's going to take us a bit longer, but we're going to be ready to try to do better. We have to be strong and united.”
The opposition
“Bilbao have a great team and a top coach. I know that winning here isn't easy because it's not the first time we've lost, but we have to think about what we can do to improve when we face a team like this.”
