Chus Mateo: “We had a good game”
“We built up a good lead by half-time,” said Campazzo after the win over Unicaja.
Chus Mateo and Facundo Campazzo discussed Real Madrid's victory over Unicaja in the opening game of the Liga Endesa semi-final series. The coach had this to say about the match at Movistar Arena: “It's a victory, it puts us 1-0 up in the series, but that's all it is. It's going to be a long play-off series, no doubt about it. We played well today and had a good game, but we have to be prepared for everything to change tomorrow.”
“We have to be prepared for their energy to change too, for their tactics to change and for players who haven't had their day to step up and still be able to beat them. We were able to rotate players, the only thing we'll see is what happens with Garuba, who has a knock and we'll have to see how he is.”
Campazzo: “Every game is like a final and it'll be different”
“We built up a good lead by half-time, which meant we could rotate players a bit more. It gave the team a chance to rest. We put in a tremendous performance against a great side. We deserve full credit. On Friday, we have to put this game behind us and start from scratch. Every game is like a final and every game is different.”
“We won, and that's what matters. We're a team that's hard to defend against when we're confident. We have a lot of variety in attack. In that sense, we did very well. I'd also like to highlight our defensive performance.”
“They're going to come out with everything they've got and try to make the most of playing away from home. We're expecting Unicaja to be aggressive at both ends of the court. We have to be ready for whatever situation we face and adapt to it.”
