Performances few others can match
Tavares is a key player in the recent successes of Real Madrid basketball. The centre from Cape Verde has put in some monster performances. For example, in the last Final Four in Kaunas, where he was crowned MVP thanks to his 39 PIR in the semi-finals against Barcelona (20 points and 15 rebounds) and 20 in the final against Olympiacos (13 and 10). He will also be remembered for his 41 PIR (26 points and 11 rebounds) against Partizan in the third game of the historic Euroleague playoff last season, or his 40 in the 2022 Super Cup final against Barcelona (24 and 12). Tavares is the all-time leading shot blocker in the EuroLeague and has led the league in this category in four editions.
