Real Madrid will get their EuroLeague campaign underway this Friday away at Baskonia 8,30pm CEST. Club captain Sergio Llull discussed the team’s objectives and mood in the camp ahead of the new competition: “The EuroLeague is a highly demanding but very special competition for us. We've managed to win it three times in recent years and we're going to try to do that again. What I like most is that we all know each other, we know our objectives and that will work in our favour. It's an advantage for the start of the competition. We've only brought in Campazzo, but he's already been with us and knows how it all works.”

“It shows respect from our opponents that they believe we're among the favourites. We know that winning the EuroLeague is very difficult and we have to take it step by step, working our way through the competition. Obviously, our objective is to try to reach the Final Four in Berlin and win it.”
Ambition
“Winning the EuroLeague two years in a row would be a beautiful thing and a major achievement. We know that it's tough. When you're the reigning champions all the teams want to beat you and they're going to make things very difficult for us, but we're going to try. The EuroLeague is a very demanding competition.”

Getting off to a good start
"We have to start well to try to position ourselves for the playoffs and gain home-court advantage. From there, we have to be in good shape and be aware that the moment of truth in the EuroLeague comes in April. We have the experience from other seasons and we'll try to get there in good shape. We're looking forward to this new EuroLeague, we can't wait for it to start and we promise a lot of effort and sacrifice to get as far as possible.”
