Tavares chosen best defender in the League 2023/24
The Cape Verde center scoops the award for the fourth successive season.
Walter Tavares has been named the best defender in the League 2023/24. The madridista center, who wins the accolade for the fourth season in a row, is the only player to have won it since it was inaugurated in 2021. With 19 points, Tavares beat Alberto Díaz (14) and Kameron Taylor (5) in the voting.
The Cape Verde ace's defensive numbers have been key in the championship once again. He tops the lists for rebounds per game (7.1), offensive rebounds (2.7) and blocks (1.7). His best performance in this sense this season came on matchday 7 against Zunder Palencia, when he took 13 rebounds.
