Tavares: “The aim is to win all the trophies and to do our best”

Tavares spoke to Realmadrid TV and analysed the start of the official season and the first game in the Super Cup against Barcelona: “I'm really looking forward to the start and with the responsibility of winning trophies. We have the same objective as always: to win all the trophies and do our best. The Super Cup is a very special competition. The team that goes into it better prepared is the one that can win the trophy.”
Squad
“The club is always looking for people who want to be successful. The signings have come in and they have adapted very well. They want to learn more about our culture and the things we do inexplicably. It's important that they possess the hunger for trophies to make the club as big as possible. Without a hunger for trophies, Real Madrid isn't a good place to be. We have to keep trying to win trophies to do a good job.”
Defence is key
“Defence is what wins titles, attack helps a lot but defence is what gives us the confidence to perform well. If you don't defend, you won't win titles.”
The fans
“The fans help us a lot and give us a lot of strength and encouragement. They're also looking forward to the start of the season. It's a routine that we all have of suffering and winning together and we all miss it.”
