Tavares: “The team's in good shape and we'll give it our all”
“We're playing in front of our home fans, I'm sure they'll give us the strength to go and get the win," added the center ahead of the Clásico.
Walter Tavares spoke to Real Madrid TV on the eve of the EuroLeague Clásico at the Movistar Arena (Friday, 8:45 pm CET): “The team is in good shape. Our goal is to try to win as many games as possible to stay near the top because we know how tight the EuroLeague is.”
“We’re focused and determined to push hard in every game, to win and compete until the end of the season. We played Barcelona recently and now we're facing them again. It’s an opportunity to improve and it will give us a lot of confidence for a very tough home game.”
“We’ve got another Clásico at home, which isn’t very common, but for basketball fans it’s a game they love to watch — and we love to play in it. We’ll give it our all to try to win and make them happy.”
Opponent
“They’re a great team, winners, who are always fighting for titles. We’ll try to do everything possible to play well and keep picking up wins in the EuroLeague.”
A demanding week
“It’s a tough week because we’re playing two direct rivals in the EuroLeague and ACB. We need to focus only on Barcelona for now, and then it’s Valencia Basket on Sunday. That'll be another tough game against a team that’s playing really well. The good thing is we have both games at home in front of our fans. I'm sure they'll get behind us and give us the strength to go and get the win.”
