Real Madrid's basketball team got their hands on a tenth European Cup six years ago today. Having clinched the title in 2015, Pablo Laso's boys got their hands on a second European crown in four seasons in the Final Four held in Belgrade. Madrid came through a season plagued by injuries in sublime fashion, winning the EuroLeague by beating Fenerbahçe 85-80 in the final. Causeur was the top scorer for the madridistas on 17 points and Doncic (15) was named Final Four MVP. The Slovenian was also crowned the EuroLeague's best player.

Prior to the clash with the Turkish outfit, Real Madrid beat CSKA Moscow in the semi-finals, despite them being the top team in the Regular Season (83-92). In the final, Laso's boys came past Fenerbahçe. The madridistas set the pace in the game but it was not decided until the final minute. At 81-78 ahead with just 22 seconds to go, a Thompkins basket from an offensive rebound and two Causeur free-throws clinched La Décima.
