Scariolo scoops award at the Spanish Olympic Committee 2025 gala
The Real Madrid coach was recognised for his amazing career at the Spanish national team helm.
Sergio Scariolo was one of the standout figures at the Spanish Olympic Committee 2025 gala, held at the Goyeneche Auditorium in Madrid. The Real Madrid coach was honored for his spectacular career in charge of the Spanish national team, and was joined at the event by Sergio Rodríguez, our club’s basketball sporting director.
After receiving the award, the Madrid coach expressed his gratitude: “I have been fortunate to live, work, compete, and win things alongside extraordinary human beings. Each of them has left an important impression on me. I understand that, over so many years on this journey, it has truly been a blessing to have had the chance to work around people of such human and professional quality.”
Scariolo joined Real Madrid this summer after a brilliant spell in charge of the national team, during which he became the most decorated coach in Spain’s history, with a total of eight medals: five gold (2019 World Cup, EuroBasket 2009, EuroBasket 2011, EuroBasket 2015, and EuroBasket 2022), one silver (London 2012 Olympic Games), and two bronze (Rio 2016 Olympic Games and EuroBasket 2017).
