The Movistar Arena observed a minute of silence before the start of the game between Real Madrid and Crvena Zvezda on the final matchday of the EuroLeague Regular Season in memory of José Emilio Santamaría, one of the greatest legends of our club and world football, who passed away at the age of 96.
Santamaría joined Real Madrid in 1957 and wore our jersey for nine seasons, until 1966. He won 4 European Cups, 1 Intercontinental Cup, 6 LaLiga titles, and 1 Copa de España, playing 337 games for Real Madrid. He was part of the legendary team that won the first European Cups in history consecutively, paving the way for Real Madrid's universal legend.
