Real Madrid were crowned Copa del Rey champions for the 29th time in the basketball club’s history. After defeating Barça in the final, the players expressed their delight at winning this latest trophy. Llull, who lifted the trophy together with Rudy as team captains, said: “The team was really focused all weekend, we performed really well. Everyone was prepared and had a clear role to play, and that's what the team's success comes down to. We have to savour this victory and celebrate it with our fantastic fans, with those who have travelled and with those who have watched it at home.”

Rudy: “When I started playing basketball I didn't think I could ever make history with this great club. All the fans and this team deserve it. Barça are a very complete and compact team, we knew that and in the 3rd and 4th quarters we managed to read the game well thanks to a great defence.”

Deck: “The team performed brilliantly in the Cup from the very first game. We knew it was going to be tough but if we played our basketball we could win and that's what we did. Character, sticking together in the bad moments. That's what has helped us to win games and trophies. We have to continue this way. This is why we play at Madrid, to win trophies.”

Tavares: “It was an unbelievable game. We dominated from the beginning to the end. We knew it was going to be tough to win, but we kept our focus and the team did a great job.”

Musa: "It's a very special moment for me, my first Cup. But we have two more trophies to play for this season. We're still fighting and we'll see what we can do. Now we enjoy ourselves and tomorrow we keep working. When you have this mentality like we do, you can fight for everything, but it's not easy to beat Murcia, Valencia and now Barcelona. To the fans: thank you for everything, you're the best in the world."

Poirier: “We had a great attitude to fight every game and every minute to win the trophy. We played every game with a positive mentality, that's the most important thing.”

Sergio Rodríguez: “I'm delighted to win it, here in Malaga, after all the hard work I've put in over the last few months. It's a small reward, but we want to achieve more. Sometimes it's a long season, but the team works on its belief with training sessions and matches.”
