Hezonja: "It's an honour to play in the Petrovic testimonial"
“You can't do anything to make it as far as he did," said the Madridista, who will be playing in Zagreb alongside Musa and Tavares in the memorial match for the Croatian legend (Thursday, 8 pm CEST).
Real Madrid and world basketball legend Drazen Petrovic will be honoured this Thursday in an emotional tribute at the Zagreb Arena in Croatia, where a match will be played between the Croatian national team, which will feature Hezonja, and a team of European players, which will include Tavares and Musa.
Hezonja spoke to Realmadrid TV and discussed his compatriot's impact on the world basketball scene: “Because of his stature, because of where Petrovic was, you can't do anything to make it that far. It's great, something to be proud of and an honour to do this for one of our best players in history. And also one of the best players of all time.”
“It means a lot not only for the city, but also for the entire country. What is being done for Petrovic is wonderful. It also means a lot for Real Madrid. I'm proud and honoured to be here because of Petrovic, but I'm also here in the name of Real Madrid and that's also an honour and a source of pride.”
