The Real Madrid basketball team lifted its ninth Copa de España trophy in 1965. The madridistas clinched the cup by defeating RC Náutico Tenerife (107-82) in a final that took place in Salamanca. With this victory, Pedro Ferrándiz's side won the first of three consecutive cups between 1965 and 1967.

On the road to the final, Los Blancos beat Picadero (89-66) in the quarter-finals and Joventut (107-103) in the semi-finals. By winning the trophy, Real Madrid claimed the three major competitions in the same season for the first time in its history, having previously triumphed in the league and the European Cup.
