Felipe Reyes named EuroLeague Basketball Legend
The former madridista captain collected the accolade at the Wizink Center ahead of Friday's match-up between Real Madrid and Barça.
Felipe Reyes has been named a EuroLeague Legend. The power forward collected the distinction in a ceremony held ahead of tomorrow’s contest between Real Madrid and Barça at the WiZink Center. Jordi Bertomeu presented Reyes with the award and the Madrid fans gave him a standing ovation.Last summer saw Reyes call time on a dazzling career that yielded 23 trophies with our club. He made his EuroLeague bow at the age of 20 and twice went on to captain Real Madrid to continental glory, in 2015 and 2018.
As well as being our team’s highest all-time appearance maker 1,046, Reyes retired as the EuroLeague’s all-time leader on offensive rebounds 705; second in total rebounds 1,799, free throws made 967 and fouls drawn 1,308; third in games played 357; sixth in performance index rating 3,775; and eighth in scoring 3,029. He was named in the 2014-15 All-EuroLeague First Team.
Reyes becomes the seventh player to be awarded this distinction and joins Siskauskas, Papaloukas, Diamantidis, Turkcan, Navarro and Jasikevicius in having landed the prize.
