Real Madrid have touched down in Murcia, where they are to play the Endesa Super Cup this weekend. After training in the morning at Real Madrid City, the Whites travelled to Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport to catch a flight to Alicante. From there, they travelled by road to the Melva hotel in Murcia, where they will be staying for the duration of the tournament. Our team faces Barcelona in the semi-finals (Saturday, 6:30pm CEST).
Tavares: ‘The Super Cup is a very tricky competition’
The Whites' centre spoke to the media on the team's arrival in Murcia: ’We're really looking forward to getting started. We're focused and we're going to fight to win the title. The competition is called the Super Cup because the four best teams from last year are playing. We have to play in the best way possible. It can be an important boost for us at the start of the season.'
Inside play
‘We're practically doing the same as last year but with new players. We have depth of squad for the season and now we're just thinking about how to do the best we can. Ibaka gives us more experience. He has played a lot of games in the NBA and that motivates us when we see him training as well. As for Garuba, it's as if he hadn't left. He plays with a lot of intensity and is excited to be back.'
