Chus Mateo: ‘It's an unprecedented final which adds more credibility to a hotly contested Liga’
‘We go into the game on the back of some great performances, full of confidence and hunger,’ said Campazzo at the launch of the playoffs for the title.
Chus Mateo and Campazzo appeared before the media at the launch of the Liga Endesa final. The Real Madrid coach analysed the title series against UCAM Murcia, which starts this Saturday at the WiZink Center (8:30pm CEST): ‘It has been one of the most competitive Ligas I can remember. Now we have an unprecedented final, which gives more credit to this highly competitive league.'
'UCAM Murcia have won twice in Valencia and three times in Málaga. Which is impressive and makes us even more focused on tomorrow's game against a team that we respect a lot for what they have done and what they have been doing.'
Competitive DNA
‘We've played 83 games plus the one in Dallas. There's a lot of merit in what the team is doing, maintaining that competitive tension every day, and that speaks volumes about the strength of the team. I'm very proud and I hope my players can continue to display that competitive spirit in the final series.'
Campazzo: ‘We want to get off to the best possible start’
'It's been a long and competitive season, in which you could win or lose against anyone both at home or away. We're in a good dynamic, are filled with confidence and we're very eager to win. We want to get off to the best possible start.'
‘We have to play to perfection and bring our experience, intensity and leadership to the table. Every grain of sand counts. This final demands 100% from us physically and mentally. For me it will be a special final because of the time I spent in Murcia. I want to have a good time with my teammates as well as with the opposition, whom I'm very close to.'
