Sabonis visits the team at Real Madrid City
The madridista legend greeted the players ahead of training at the basketball centre.
Real Madrid welcomed a special guest to their training session held at the Real Madrid City basketball centre this afternoon. Arvydas Sabonis, a club legend and one of the most influential players in the history of European and world basketball, visited the team on the eve of their EuroLeague Round 24 game against Monaco (Thursday, 8:45 pm CET).
After the session, the iconic center greeted the players and coaching staff, was presented with a team jersey, and posed for a group photo. Sabonis joined Real Madrid in 1992 after winning the bronze medal at the Barcelona Olympic Games. During his three years at the club, he became a fan favorite and was instrumental in winning two ACB Leagues, one Copa del Rey, and, above all, the eighth European Cup against Olympiacos - where he was the game’s top scorer with 23 points.
