Real Madrid are just one win away from being crowned Liga Endesa champions, as the Whites travel to Murcia with a 2-0 lead after victories on Saturday and Monday at the WiZink Center. History certainly favours Madrid, since on each of the five occasions when they have had the same lead, they have gone on to lift the trophy. However, they are up against tough opposition who will be backed by home support at the Palacio de Deportes de Murcia.

Madrid have already secured one trophy on this court this season, namely the Endesa Super Cup, where they first beat Barcelona in the semi-finals and Unicaja in the final. Chus Mateo's charges will be looking to wrap up the league swiftly, as they did in the ties against Gran Canaria and Barcelona. This would also mean going through the playoffs undefeated, something that has not happened since the 1985/86 campaign.

A similar match is expected to be played as the first two, consisting of parity in the first half and a second half in which any scoring run can determine victory for one side or the other. In the first clash, Madrid decided the game in the third quarter courtesy of their offensive performance, with a 12-point lead. In the second, it was all about defence, with a +11 and Rudy at the heart of the action. The small forward was outstanding with 14 straight points and was given a standing ovation by the WiZink Center, which lasted for more than 15 minutes.

Previous final series with 2-0 leads
In the five finals in which Real Madrid have taken a 2-0 lead, they have always lifted the trophy. Four of these were against Barcelona (3-0 in 1994/95 and 2014/15, and 3-1 in 2006/07 and 2018/19) and one against Joventut (3-2 in 1992/93). This evening, the Whites will be bidding to repeat history and pick up a third point to secure the club's 37th league title.
