Real Madrid-UCAM Murcia: the leader seeks its 7th consecutive league victory

Real Madrid faces UCAM Murcia this evening at the Movistar Arena in the seventh round of the league. Undefeated leaders under Pedro Martínez will aim to achieve their seventh consecutive victory in the competition. Recovering from the great effort on Thursday against Panathinaikos, in a match that went into overtime, is key to confidently taking on the visit of a very demanding opponent.

Madrid has been unstoppable in the league. It is the highest-rated team (137 on average) and leads in scoring (109 points), with Luwawu-Cabarrot being the best in the competition (21.7 points). After the absences of Maledon, Jantunen, and Campazzo, players like Feliz, Abalde, Shulga, and Jones have stepped up. The first two set their scoring records with our jersey in the EuroLeague against the Greeks (27 and 23 points respectively).

UCAM Murcia is in the middle of the table with an equal number of wins and losses (3-3). Away from home, they have yet to secure a victory and will aim to do so in a venue where they have never won. Real Madrid has 33 consecutive home victories against the Murcia team, a streak that began in the 1990-91 season. The most recent encounter was in April, in the highest-scoring game in ACB history, which ended with a Madrid victory of 131-123 after overtime.

Opponent
Sito Alonso's team also possesses a lot of offensive talent (coming off setting their scoring record with 125 points against Lleida). 80% of their production comes from their perimeter players (Ennis, Boum, Forrest, Sant-Roos, and Radebaugh). However, they are also strong in the paint and excel in rebounding, especially offensive rebounds. On the other side, among others, they will face the all-time leading rebounder in ACB history, Tavares, with his 739 rebounds. This evening, we aim to continue our winning streak in the league.
