Monaco-Real Madrid: demanding game on the road for Euroleague leaders
Chus Mateo's men go in search of their 20th win on a court where they have won on both of their visits (8:00pm CET).

Two games in less than 48 hours for Real Madrid (Monaco and Bilbao Basket). The first will be today for Euroleague game 22. Chus Mateo's team will face a tough test on the Monaco court, where they have never lost, against an opponent that has become a clear title contender in recent seasons. The leaders will be looking for their 20th win in the competition.
Madrid are having a great season away from home. They are the best in this sense with nine wins in eleven games and if they win today, they would equal their record number of away wins in a regular season, the ten achieved in the 20/21 and 22/23 seasons. They would still have five more outings to go to surpass Anadolu Efes' 13 wins in 19/20, which is the all-time high. They go into the game leading the table with four more wins than second-placed Efes and having won nine of their last ten games. For their part, Monaco are eighth (11-10) and are coming off the back of three defeats in the previous five games.
It will be a very physically demanding encounter. Monaco is a very athletic team, with a defence that recovers a lot of turnovers (they are also the team that loses the most possession), and which is good at offensive rebounding. Mike James is their thermometer, but don't neglect the rest. A perimeter with a lot of points with Okobo, Diallo, Loyd or Walker. On the inside, a long rotation with the quartet of Motiejunas, Hall, Jaiteh and ex-Madrid player Cornelie. The leaders will have to overcome the important absences of Tavares and Llull, but they have a very deep squad. Our team leads in points, rebounds, assists and blocks.
They look to keep up their winning streak in Monaco
Madrid have won all their visits to Monaco, but they have been very evenly matched games. Last season we won 91-95 with a memorable performance by Hezonja, the best in our jersey (30 points and 34 PIR). A year earlier, in our first meeting there, we won 84-90 after two overtimes. This will be the sixth time we face them in the Euroleague, with a favourable balance of four wins and one loss. In the first round, we defeated them 91-73 at the WiZink Center. Today, we are looking for our 20th win.
