Maccabi-Real Madrid: looking for a EuroLeague win on the road
PREVIEW.Edu Bueno

Real Madrid face Maccabi at Belgrade's Nikolic Hall this evening, chasing a fourth victory of their EuroLeague campaign so far – and what would be their first away from home. Tonight will mark the latest episode – number 74, to be exact – in one of the competition's great rivalries. For our team, it's the second of three games away from the Movistar Arena in Europe (they also head to Bayern Munich next week). Scariolo's team are the only one with a 100% record on home soil to date, and now they turn their attentions to rival ground as they look to keep climbing the table.

Maccabi are yet to win a game at home (against Paris Basketball, Barcelona and Olympiacos), but they're a competitive outfit with great individual quality, especially on the outside in the form of Dowtin Jr. and Walker IV. They also boast a powerful interior, with Marcio Santos, Leaf, Brissett, Sorkin and Hoard.

Historic matchup
Last season, the two teams were involved in a record-breaking clash at the Movistar Arena, which ended in a 116-113 madridista win – the highest-scoring game without overtime in EuroLeague history. Campazzo delivered his best display in Real Madrid colours, posting 31 points and a PIR of 43. In their 73 matches since 1968, our boys have a clear advantage, at 46 to 27.
