Real Madrid face a tough trip to Lenovo Tenerife on the sixth league game-day of the season. They come into the game on the back of a perfect EuroLeague double-header with wins over Zalgiris and Armani Milán at the WiZink Center, and will be looking to extend their spectacular run of 11 wins so far this season. They will be up against an opponent who had a slow start to the competition but which seems to have picked up the pace of late.

As league leaders, they are the only team to have won all their games. And they have done so in dominant fashion, with an average difference of 15.4 points. They have performed at a very high level in offence, averaging 96 points and a PIR of 114.6. Lenovo Tenerife started the season with three defeats, but they have turned things around with wins over Rio Breogán, Girona and in their FIBA Champions League opener against French side Cholet.
Madrid will not only have to cope with the physical and mental strain of playing three games in six days, but also with an opponent who will be playing from memory. Txus Vidorreta's side have retained the same successful unit of recent seasons, led by Huertas and Shermadini, with the addition of Vicedo and Ristic. They are a team with a strong outside threat in the form of Jaime Fernández, Salin, Cook and Abromaitis.

Madrid is also about defence
And they showed it in their match against Armani Milan. After a high-scoring first half, they unleashed their aggression at the back when the game needed it most, holding the Italian side to 11 points in the final quarter. Tavares and Poirier, with Ndiaye also contributing, are a guarantee in the middle. The Cape Verdean is six rebounds away from becoming La Liga's second-highest rebounder. Our team has won its last five visits to the Santiago Martín in Tenerife. Last season they won 67-80. It will be the last game before another Clásico, this time in the Euroleague next Thursday at the WiZink Center.
