Gonzalo makes his official Real Madrid debut
"It's been a dream of mine since I was a kid to play for the first team because I've always been a madridista," said the youth academy player on Realmadrid TV.
Gonzalo made his official debut for Real Madrid on LaLiga matchday 14 against Cádiz at the Nuevo Mirandilla. The academy graduate, who came on in the 78th minute and replaced Rodrygo, said on Realmadrid TV: "I'm happy. I was nervous at first, but then I got over it out on the pitch. I'm very grateful for this. It's been a dream of mine since I was a kid to play for the first team because I've always been a madridista".
"It was the first time I travelled with the first team and it's a new experience. The other players are very nice and they have made the experience a lot easier".
What did Ancelotti say to you?
"He told me to enjoy myself, to perform as I know how and to help the team both offensively and defensively."
Advice from teammates
"They told me to enjoy the experience, that I should go out on the pitch feeling good and help my teammates. They also said that I will remember this day".
What will you do with the jersey for your debut?
"I'm going to keep it, I'll ask my teammates to sign it and I'll keep it as a keepsake".

"Just like Nico Paz and I, there are a lot of players from the youth academy who are dreaming of this moment. It's through hard work, hope and ambition that we've been able to get this chance".
The win against Cádiz
"They were a very difficult side to play against, on a tough pitch and with the fans behind them from the beginning to the end. It was a hard-fought and well-deserved victory".
His path
Gonzalo joined Real Madrid in the 2014/2015 season to play for the Under-11s and is excelling with Castilla in the current season. In his time with the Under-19s, Gonzalo won the 2022 and 2023 Copa del Rey, and the 2023 Copa de Campeones. He is also a Spain Under-19 international.
