A strong forward, brimming with quality, Borja Mayoral showed his goal scoring prowess in the Real Madrid youth teams, starting in 2007 as part of the Under-11s. He rose through the ranks and eventually made a name for himself in the Castilla squad, scoring 15 goals in the 2015/16 campaign. He also scored more goals than anyone in the first four editions of the UEFA Youth League.
He made his Real Madrid first team debut in October 2015, in a LaLiga win over Las Palmas at the Bernabéu. In the following campaign, he went out on loan to play in the Bundesliga with Wolfsburg, further progressing at the very highest level of football.
As part of the national set up, he won the European Under-19 Championship with Spain in 2015. Mayoral was top scorer and a vital component of the team as they won the tournament. He currently plays for the Spanish Under-21 side.
