Vini Jr. was named MVP of the game between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, in the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals. The forward was instrumental in the first leg of the tie, scoring both of Madrid's goals. After receiving the award, the Brazilian said: “We always want to win, but we know what this competition is like and you can't give the ball away. Both teams have plenty of quality and we're going to score the chances we have. It's never easy and we have to keep calm and rest until the next game. We know that we and the fans are going to give our all in the next game at the Bernabéu.”

Kroos
“You have to stay focused for these balls. Kroos always makes things very easy and he set me up for a goal. I'm also happy with the team's defensive work. We have to improve, but if we continue like this we can win at home.”

“We train together so much, I know Kroos very well and he knows me very well. I'm delighted to be able to score two goals. Now it's time for a magical night at home.”

Demands of the competition
“In this competition it's important not to lose. We're here because we haven't lost yet. We have to continue to do great things and get Real Madrid where they deserve to be, which is in the final.”
