Guerschon Yabusele has been named Endesa League MVP for the month of May. The power forward averaged 21 points per game, making 81% of his free-throws, 56.7% of his two-point field goals and 50% from the three-point line. He also took 7.8 rebounds and recovered 1.3 balls, for a total PIR of 25. The Frenchman led Real Madrid to winning all four of their games in the month.
Yabusele got May underway with his best-ever madridista display, spearheading the win over Unicaja on matchday 32. He set a new personal points record of 28, and a PB for PIR at 33. He also took 11 rebounds to complete his double-double. In the next game, he posted 25 points, 7 rebounds and a PIR of 28 to take his team to a win over Valencia Basket at La Fonteta.
He was named MVP on matchday 33 after taking Madrid to another victory away at Gran Canaria (17 points, 9 rebounds and 3 steals). Yabusele completed the month with another superb performance against Betis, finishing with 14 points and a PIR of 11. So far in this league campaign he has averaged 11.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and 14.3 PIR. He is the second madridista to scoop the prize this term, after Tavares back in January.
