PREVIEW. 22/04/2023. Alberto Navarro

After booking their place in the semi-finals of the Champions League, Real Madrid host Celta on matchday 30 of LaLiga (9pm CET).

Real Madrid are back in action at the Santiago Bernabéu ten days after their last league outing to take on Celta on LaLiga matchday 30 (9pm CET). The Whites go into this evening’s clash after booking their place in the Champions League semi-finals at Chelsea’s expense at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday.

Ancelotti's boys will be playing their seventh fixture out of nine in April and their aim is to keep up their outstanding run of form. The madridistas are unbeaten in five of the six matches they have faced this month and have netted 18 goals (3 per game). In the last round of the league they defeated Cádiz away from home.

“We have great respect for Celta, they’re having a great season”, said Ancelotti in the press conference ahead of the clash. The Italian manager will be without the injured Mendy and Alaba, but the coach‘s squad does include the in-form Rodrygo, whose brace helped the Whites defeat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

The opposition
Celta start the weekend in 12th position in the league table, nine points clear of the relegation zone, on the back of an excellent final stretch of the season. The Galician side have suffered just one defeat in their last eight league fixtures (3 wins and 4 draws) and have now gone five games without tasting defeat away from home. Iago Aspas is their top scorer with 12 goals.
