The CaixaForum Madrid auditorium hosted a new edition of the Luis de Carlos Forum. On this occasion the event, organised by the Real Madrid Foundation, focused on the role of fans in sport and their artistic expression in literature, music and film.

Enrique Sánchez, executive vice-president of the Foundation, chaired the meeting hosted by Realmadrid TV journalist Cristina Gullón. The event was attended by artists such as the actor and producer Antonio Resines, the violinist María José Gómez and the painter Francisco López Herrero. Also present were Carlos Marañón, writer and director of Cinemanía; Francois Guerin, director of digital content at Real Madrid, and Manuel Gómez, chair of the Real Madrid Association of Supporters Clubs.

Fans
The speakers analysed different approaches to the portrayal of sports fans in art as well as the role of fans. The popularity of our club was emphasised by Francois Guerin: "We have more than 450 million followers on social networks, with Spain being the fifth country in order of number of followers. Sporting excellence and titles are the best raw material to create content. Manuel Gómez meanwhile made the following comment: "We are the football club with the most supporters clubs, with more than 2,500 worldwide, and they are an extremely important part of our club."

Cultural presence
Carlos Marañón pointed out: "If there is one team in Spain that has been represented in the cinema, it is Real Madrid. It began to have a strong presence on the silver screen after the first European Cups." Francisco López Herrero, painter and creator of the work Nuevo estadio Santiago Bernabéu (donated to the Real Madrid Foundation), explained the inspiration for the painting: "I was very impressed when I saw the model of the new stadium. It will be the home of the best team in the world. Finally, Antonio Resines revealed that his most recent project would have a reference to Real Madrid: "In the series I'm filming right now, there will be a scene in which I pray to God, that is to say... to Alfredo Di Stéfano."

The evening was brought to a close by the violinist María José Gómez, who enlivened the evening with a version of the Real Madrid anthem.
