On 17 March 1992, Real Madrid beat PAOK with a basket by Ricky Brown in the final in Nantes.

It is 31 years since Real Madrid won its third European Cup Winners' Cup. On 17 March 1992, our team beat PAOK in an evenly contested final thanks to a decisive basket by Ricky Brown with two seconds to go (65-63). In this way, the team coached by Clifford Luyk lifted the title in the French city of Nantes.

The Madrid players seemed to have got the final on track in the first half and went into the break with a 15-point lead (43-28). But the Greek side rallied in the second half and levelled the score (63-63) with ten seconds left. They even had the possession to win, but in a magnificent final move Brown stole the ball and made the basket to secure the Cup Winners' Cup for Real Madrid.

Previously, the team defeated Pro-Specs EBBC in the first round; Union Olimpija, Pau Orthez, Panionios, Benfica and Hapoel Galil Elyon in the quarter-final group; and Glaxo Verona in the semi-final.
