60 years since 9th LaLiga title

60 years ago, Real Madrid won its 9th league title. On 17 March 1963, our team won the title with five games remaining in the championship. The match that decided the title was the derby at the Bernabéu against Atlético Madrid, which went in Madrid's favour thanks to a Puskas brace and goals from Amancio and Félix Ruiz(4-3).

That edition ended with Real Madrid in first place with 49 points. They were followed by Atlético Madrid with 37 points. Puskas was top scorer that season with 26 goals, while the Zamora Trophy was won by Vicente. That Madrid squad was coached by Miguel Muñoz, who won his third consecutive league title at the helm.
