The win over Liverpool is the Italian manager's 34th in this competition in charge of Real Madrid.

After Real Madrid's victory against Liverpool at the Bernabéu, Carlo Ancelotti moved level with Del Bosque as the second Madrid manager in terms of most European Cup match victories. Both coaches have 34 European Cup wins to their name and have twice lifted the trophy as coaches of the madridistas. Del Bosque clinched La Octava (2000) and La Novena (2002), while Ancelotti led the team to La Decima (2014) and La Decimocuarta (2022). Miguel Muñoz is currently the Real Madrid coach with the most European Cup victories (41).

Ancelotti reaches this milestone in his fourth season at the club and taking charge of 46 games in the elite continental competition, his winning percentage stands at 73.9 %. As a Madrid boss, the team he has defeated most times in the Champions League is Liverpool (5). In the context of his whole coaching career, Ancelotti remains part of the European Cup elite and is the only coach to have lifted the trophy four times (twice with Real Madrid and twice with Milan).
