On 5 February 1984, Emilio Butragueño marked his first-team debut for Real Madrid with a sublime performance away at Cádiz at the Ramón de Carranza. The forward was brought on in the second half when the Whites were 2-0 down and his introduction proved to be decisive as his side fought back to win (2-3). Butragueño scored his first two goals for the club as he began a legendary spell at Real Madrid.
Butragueño made 463 appearances between 1984 and 1995 and went on to become one of the club's top scorers with 171 goals. He was also a pivotal figure during one of the most successful periods of our team's history and formed the Quinta del Buitre. He won 2 UEFA Cups, 6 LaLiga titles, 2 Copa del Rey trophies, 1 League Cup and 4 Spanish Super Cups.
