The men's and women's football and basketball first-team squads came together for the club's Christmas lunch in the basketball pavilion at Real Madrid City. Florentino Pérez presided over the event, which was also attended by the club's honorary president, Amancio Amaro, and several members of the Board of Directors.
During the lunch, the club president had the following to say: "I would like to wish you and all your families a great 2023. I hope you stay healthy, that you are free from injuries and that together we can continue to share great successes. I always say that it is a privilege to be part of Real Madrid, but it is also an enormous responsibility."
"I want you to know that we are extremely proud of what you did last season. Here are all the trophies we won. The club's fourteenth European Cup and the other trophies won in football and also in basketball will be remembered forever by all madridistas but also by all the fans across the globe. This is one of the most successful periods in the club's history."
Women’s team
"We are also laying the foundations for our women's team to continue to develop. It's only three years old, you have managed to reach the Champions League in the last two seasons. Our fans and all of us here are also very proud of you."
