ONCE ticket celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Real Madrid Foundation

NEWS STORY. 05/09/2022

The organisation's projects in education, development cooperation and social inclusion of the most vulnerable have reached over 1.2 million families.

The ONCE Social Group together with the Real Madrid Foundation launched the special ticket for 11 September 2022, paying tribute to the Foundation's 25 years of work and social and sporting projects around the world. 5.5 million tickets will display this image that will be distributed by the 19,000 ONCE salesmen and saleswomen, who are all people with disabilities.
The Real Madrid City Auditorium held an event that was presided over by Real Madrid Foundation Executive Vice-President Enrique Sánchez; Iker Casillas, Deputy Director General of the Foundation; and Miguel Carballeda, President of the ONCE Social Group. Accompanying the three of them was a group of blind footballers, who took part in a demonstration at the end of the event with Casillas, taking a number of penalties against him.
The soul of the club
The Real Madrid Foundation organises the club's corporate social action and centres its activities around social and sporting projects, based on education in values, using sport as a means for social intervention, cooperation for development and promoting inclusive sport, to help improve the lives of those who need it most. Established in 1997, it has helped more than 1,230,000 girls, boys, youngsters and vulnerable adults through projects and schools in more than 100 countries, and has provided training to more than 10,000 coaches and sports educators.

An education for a better future
The first social and sports schools started in the Community of Madrid in the 1999/2000 season. There are now 43 in Spain and 320 in 70 countries across five continents. Argentina and El Salvador were the first international projects. The international schools combine sporting activity with education in values, food, health and school reinforcement, tailored to the needs of each group. At present, over 41,000 children take part in international schools and over 27,000 in sports education programmes, campuses or clinics in 22 other countries.

All of these projects count on the work of the international partners, who run the activities, as well as the collaboration of patrons and sponsors and the thousands of madridistas who support the Foundation's initiatives and events every season.
