Rudy: “The team’s been working all season for this moment”

NEWS STORY. 18/05/2022

“We're ready and we have to give it everything on the court”, added the small  forward.

Rudy spoke to Realmadrid TV ahead of the Final Four in Belgrade. The small forward had the following to say: “We have the opportunity to experience another Final Four and we’re looking forward to it. It’s been a long and tough season, but now we’ve come this far we have to show then what Real Madrid can do”.

“It’s a special moment because the team’s been working all season to make it to these types of finals. The team’s ready. We’ve had a difficult period, but that’s normal as the season’s really long. We’ve come this far and now we have to give it everything on the court”.

“It’s important to still have the desire to win more trophies for this club. It doesn’t matter that we’ve won another two EuroLeague titles because we still want more. We’re sportsmen, we’re ambitious and we have the backing of the fans. That’s what counts – winning trophies for our fans”.

“Barcelona is a side that knows how to play us well. The last defeats were by small margins. I think we were a bit tired in the final quarter of the Copa del Rey game. We have to focus on our performance and try to put our stamp on the match. The team’s shown how strong it can be”.

“You have to remember you are playing for a trophy, that’s the most important thing. You might not get another chance to win this trophy and you never know about that. I’m 37 years old and I’m coming to the end (of my career). I don’t know if I’ll get another chance to play in another Final Four. As I’m lucky to be here, I’ll give it everything to be able to lift the trophy and help us become champions of Europe”.

Words of appreciation for the madridistas
“Thanks a lot for all your support so far this season. When things have been tough, we’ve needed your support and the whole team appreciates it. If you can get behind us because we feel it out on the court. To those who can’t make it, please support us from a distance”.
