Laso sets all-time Real Madrid wins record as a coach

NEWS | 10/06/2021

He has won 596 games following the victory over Valencia Basket in the third semi-final clash to eclipse Lolo Sainz's record of 595.
Aside from booking our team a place in the league final, tonight's win at the WIZink Center was also a very special occasion for Pablo Laso. The Vitorian coach set a new record for wins at the Real Madrid helm, at 596. The victory sees him surpass another madridista legend, Lolo Sainz, who managed 595. In his tenth season on the bench, Laso continues to set new records.

The Real Madrid boss is relentless in his pursuit of unparalleled numbers, having won 20 titles to date (2 EuroLeagues, 1 Intercontinental Cup, 5 League titles, 6 Copas del Rey and 6 Super Cups). It was against Valencia Basket in the recent Copa del Rey quarter-finals that he overtook Lolo Sainz to have coached the most games in Real Madrid history. Four months on against the same opposition, he now posts the most victories ever at the club: 596 with a win ratio of over 77%.
