Following a video showing historic images of both teams, Florentino Pérez took to the microphone: “This stadium is an emblematic place, it's magical for millions of fans who feel the passion and emotions in every game. But added to that, here at Real Madrid for many years, we've taken on a commitment that unites us with the people in society who most need our support. On Sunday the 29th of March, the Santiago Bernabéu will be the stadium of solidarity once more. We're all set to enjoy another great football party”.
Thanks to Porto
“We're honoured that our great friends, Porto, another European football great, will join us on this special day as we look to improve the lives of the weak and most vulnerable in our society, including children at serious risk of social exclusion all over the world. We want to thank you for your openness to the cause and acknowledge your desire to enhance the values of football and of sport in general”.
“Real Madrid and Porto will once again display the best our organisations have to offer for a just and universal cause. Unforgettable legends who have pulled on our jerseys throughout our history will once again be involved in a moment that all football fans will hold dear in their memories”.
“They will do so on this occasion in solidarity, and the proceeds from this Corazón Classic Match Together for the kids will go to the Real Madrid Foundation's social inclusion projects for boys and girls across every continent on the globe. We always say the Foundation is Real Madrid's soul, and we'll never get tired of repeating it. Because we can never do enough to be alongside those who are suffering, children who do not have access to the opportunities they need and deserve”.
Alípio Fernandes: “It's an honour to be involved in this game”
“Real Madrid and Porto are two good friends with a long history of contact and cooperation. It's an honour to be involved in the Corazón Classic Match, we're thankful for the invitation. The two institutions with a social and media impact are obliged to use that to ensure the world is a more caring place for those who suffer most. That's why Porto could never turn down an initiative like this by the Real Madrid Foundation. We cooperate in a social cause that is close to our hearts and I'm sure it will be a great spectacle and yet another success”.
